Welcome! Come one, come all, to ODFS's first show, The Darkest Display! This show is open to the general public whether you have a HARPG stable or not, so please, feel free to enter!

The Entry Rules are as follows:

:bulletwhite: You may enter as many horses as you want that you feel would fit the show's Carnival/Circus theme. These will not be normal classes, so choose carefully.
:bulletwhite: Please note me with a registration form. The form for each horse should look like the one bellow, and you can submit multiple entry forms per note.

Horse Name: (please include a link to the horse's reference)
Class your horse is entering in: (can be more than one)
Stable Name or your name:
Rider: (if your horse needs one for the class)

You fill out one of these per each horse entering.

NOTE: Registration ahead of time is not necessary. If you have time constraints or would prefer not to make any commitments ahead of time, you don't need to register. You are more than welcome to just drop a show pic in if you deside to. For the pics, you can either link me on my page, this page, or note me with them. :)

The Classes

-:bulletwhite: Haute d'Ecole
-:bulletwhite: Costume Class
-:bulletwhite: Circus-specific performance
-:bulletwhite: Fantastic and Otherworldly Breeds Showcase
-:bulletwhite: Freestyle

Haute d'Ecole: This is the highest form of dressage and will require a picture of your horse(s) performing one of the following: the Pas de Quatre (this requires 4 horses) the Grande Quadrille (multiple or one horse) the Levade, the Courbette, the Capriole, the Piaffe, the Mezair, and performing under long rein. The class is graded on finesse and execution. Riders are not necessary, but this is probably THE class you'd want one in.

Costume Class: Your horse(s) and rider(s) may be dressed in any costume you choose, and will be performing simple dressage freestyle of your jurisdiction to best enhance and embody their image. The class is graded on the originality, creativity and quality of the costume. Quality, not quantity. Riders are not necessary.

Circus-Specific: If you see it in a circus, it goes here. Even things that horses normally cannot physically do--like tightrope walking, contortions, balancing acts, even clowns. Things that occur in normal circuses are welcome as well, like vaulting or other horseback displays. Again, riders are not necessary. The class is graded on originality, creativity and finesse.

Fantastic and Otherworldly Breeds Showcase: Any and all unnatural breeds are welcome. This class is designed to show off the attributes of both the breed and the individual. The breed does not need to have powers; it can be a color breed, like Harlequines. The horses can perform in groups, pairs, or single, with or without riders, and must be drawn exhibiting a power or doing something the breed is known for, or simply showing off its physical attributes to its best advantage. The class is graded on two things; technique for the powerless fantastic breeds, and power for those with magical or other abilities.

Freestyle: The Freestyle class can combine any and all elements from the above, or have nothing to do with them at all. This does not even need to be done by horses, but can involve the people performing. Go wild. Class will be judged on creativity and display.

The Awards Are:

Haute d'Ecole: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place
Costume Class: Best Costume
Circus-Specific: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place
Fantasy Breeds: Best power, Best performance, Best overall
Freestyle: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place

The first-place winners of each class will recieve as their award a picture of them performing in the Grand Finale of The Darkest Display, as put on by ODFS--a picture showing each champion in the spotlight. This will serve as a tribute to the winners. All other winners will get a picture of their horse with the ribbon as their award. The show officially begins on July 13th, 2012--please have your registrations in to me before then. The show will end Jully 31st. Thank you for entering, but most importantly, please have fun! If you have any trouble with time constraints, please speak to me, I'd be happy to work something out. :) Thank you!
